Hogwild Stuff Coin Minting |
|
You know the coins made and sold by Hogwild Stuff! We work very hard to develop creative quality art. Then use quality minting processes. We have been approached about providing minting services. We just completed our first project and have several others in process. If you would like to have us provide a quote here is what we need: 1. Your artwork. (if all you have is an idea, we can help you find the right artist for the job.) 2. The size of the coin. 3. The shape of the coin 4. The metal finish or finishes you would like to have. (we recommend having samples done in several finishes.) 5. The number of coins you would like to make. 6. Do you want the coin trackable at www.geocaching.com If you don't have all this information just contact us and we will help you make those decisions. Some other information that may be helpful in the process of developing your coin: A. Coin sizes are usually 1.5, 1.75 & 2 inchs. Micro’s are usually 1 inch. B. Most coins are 3.0 or 3.5 mm. Micro’s are usually 2.0 mm C. Most coins are round, but many people prefer shaped coins. You can get real creative with this. D. Metal type. Most quality coins use Brass or Copper as the base metal, which is then plated. Other options include zinc or iron which is less expensive but produces a lower quality coin. E. Plating options include: Gold, Antique Gold, Silver, Antique Silver, Nickel, Black Nickel, Copper, Antique Copper, Brass, Antique Brass, Chrome, Satin Gold, Satin Silver F. 2D or 3D coins. 3D dies are slightly more expensive to make, but can create wonderful effects for some coins. Most coins use 2D dies, this is a little misleading because a 2d coin does have some texture. G. Finish. There are three basic finishes: Soft enamel, Imitation hard and enamel |
